On August 23, 2014, my bae and I had the pleasure of tying the knot in Marfa, Texas. A small Texas town situated in between El Paso and Midland, Marfa is a west Texas refuge for artists, hipsters and ranchers (among many others). We are lucky enough to have family who has property out there, so we got married at the lovely Cibolo Creek Ranch. The whole occasion was extremely special to us as one, we got married -- duh! -- and two, all of our family and friends had to travel long distances for the occasion. To make things even better, the week before our family and friends traveled out to spend some extra R&R time with us at Cibolo. We also had some incredible vendors who made our night even more perfect and special…the paper products designed by Papellerie, the incredible event planning by Keely Thorne Events and Cibolo Creek Ranch, the jaw dropping flowers from Bows + Arrows, the beautiful custom bridesmaid and Mom jewelry from the the lovely Whitley Designs, awesome direction of Kayla Barker (photographer extraordinare), the stunning visuals from the guys at 31 Films. And, let us not forget the awesome late night grilled cheeses from Food Shark, the over the top fireworks from Illumination Fireworks and the ridiculously fun photo booth from Mr. Photo Booth El Paso. All in all, it was the night of a lifetime, and the only regret I have is that we didn't get a chance to spend more time with each person who attended. It's hard to put into words how incredibly awesome a night is -- but our night was just that -- incredible.
Below this post are some of the pictures I had easily accessible. Don't worry, I will post more to your heart's (or really my heart's) content! I'll leave you with some of the more memorable moments from our big day.
...The torrential downpour during our rehearsal dinner -- one that wound up flooding the entrance to the resort where we were getting married.
…The lead singer of our band showed up late, delaying our ceremony, and we came to find out she was drunk (we'll save who the band was for anonymous reviews). Let's just say the first dance song was not as was expected!
…Our cake baker almost didn't make it into the resort due to the flooding.
…The night out in Marfa with my wedding party and the bridal shower, which were all the incredible work of my MOH who in addition to being an Ob/Gyn Resident, worked tirelessly to make sure I did not worry.
…There may have been some pool action after the reception ended.
…Two speeding tickets were obtained by the wedding party over the week.
…The speeches just rocked our worlds.
…I wound up being escorted into the ceremony by a horse and carriage (to my surprise!!)
